The Northwest Boys’ JV Golf Team competed in the Lumen Christi JV Invitational at the Cascades on Wednesday. Playing the par 72 course at 5766 yards, the Mounties finished in 4th place with a team score of 369.  Lumen Christi, the host of the annual invite, captured 1st and 2nd places with their gold and green teams firing tournament low rounds of 349 and 363. Harper Creek finished 3rd at 365.

“It was a very exciting day for Thomas as he got on a roll and just keep it going to finish tied for first,” said Coach Tracy Dryer. “He’s really been working hard to improve over the last year and it really paid off today!”

The JV Mounties will be in action next Tuesday at Sharp Park playing Jackson High.

Northwest Golfers Finish 3rd at Marshall Invite Friday Posting 318

The Northwest Golfers competed in a field of 18 team at The Marshall Invitational on Friday placing 3rd for the second year in row with a team score of 318.

The Mounties were led by a trio of top ten medal winners leading the field.  Juniors, Jake Brafford and Cody Rowe posted 76 and 77 respectively good for 4th and 5th place individually.  Sophomore, Liam Renaud, fired his personal best round, getting and staying hot on the greens, with a 78 good for 7th place.  Junior, Jarrett Osterberg came in with an 87 to finish the team score.

“Our one-two punch with Jake and Cody has been consistent this season which gives us two low scores, but finding two more competitive scores has not been consistent for us yet,” said Coach, Martha Cantlin.  “I was thrilled to watch Liam put together his best score, and will be looking for him to be one of our consistent scorers moving forward.”

The Mounties play next on Tuesday in a 9-hole match play event at Coldwater. Then play in the Purple Charity Invitational on Friday at Arbor Hills. If you haven’t donated on behalf of the Mounties yet, there is still time.  You will find the link on our Northwest Mounties Golf page on Facebook.
